Call for Papers Due November 28, 2008! The 2009 Pikes Peak Regional History Symposium Rush to the Rockies! The 1859 Pikes Peak or Bust Gold Rush Saturday, June 6, 2009 Papers sought for presentation at the 2009 Symposium commemorating the sesquicentennial of the 1859 Rush to the Rockies. Prospective participants, please complete this form if you are interested in sharing your research on the indigenous people of the area, the early settlement of the region, and the resulting impacts on modern society. Topics could include journeys west, pioneer life, economic and ecological effects, and any other imaginative connections. The day-long symposium will be on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Selected papers will be considered for publication by the Pikes Peak Library District as part of our Regional History Series. Proposal deadline is Friday, November 28, 2008.
